Technical Consultant
The Technical Consultant is responsible, as part of the team, for all activities associated with the delivery of services to BDQ’s clients from the point at which an order is placed. The role also includes support to the internal IT services (mainly Jira) that BDQ uses, as well as support to sales activities.

We need people who are technically literate and who are passionate about solving problems and delivering high quality outcomes to customers. You will be expected to learn the products in depth, and you will also be dealing with other technologies, such as Python, SQL, AWS, REST, JSON and JavaScript.
Everyone who joins us will be put through the official Atlassian training courses, and supported to get Atlassian Certification. We will also fund other training to develop your skills. Accountabilities

Ensuring BDQ is represented professionally in all client interactions

Performing the lead role on client assignments
-
Understanding clients’ requirements
-
Designing solutions in the 3rd party products that BDQ resells and supports, such as Atlassian, Asana and App4Legal

Delivery of client work to the standards required, following BDQ’s Engagement Process. Such work may include (but is not limited to):

ITSM implementations in Jira Service Management
-
Agile transformations using Jira Software and Advanced Roadmaps
-
Server-to-Cloud and Server-to-Datacentre migrations of Atlassian products
-
Writing and delivering training courses and informal “drop-in” sessions on the products and on Agile methodology

Conducting regular status-update meetings with clients

Managing risks to the delivery of assignments and reporting such risks to the team

Providing support to BDQ’s sales and marketing activities in the production of general and specific collateral and in generating Quotes, Bids and Tenders.
Experience & Knowledge
-
A minimum of two years’ experience in a Technical Consultancy or End-User Administration role utilising Atlassian products

A good understanding of the principles behind Agile projects for development and quality management AND/OR a good understanding of the principles behind ITSM and service desk implementations

Comprehensive knowledge of the Atlassian product suite, including Jira Software, Confluence AND/OR Jira Service Management, as well as some knowledge of commonly used Marketplace Apps such as Tempo, Zephyr, etc.

Knowledge of Advanced Roadmaps or equivalent is advantageous

Good experience of liaising directly with clients to manage ongoing work, clarify requirements and manage expectations

Experience of delivering end-user training on IT products, including remote training

The Technical Consultant is expected to develop an in-depth understanding of BDQ’s values, business drivers and the services that it provides.

Experience of technologies such as Python, SQL, AWS, REST, JSON and JavaScript is beneficial.
