Advanced Roadmaps for Jira
Learn how to use Advanced Roadmaps for Jira to create Plans that can encompass multiple projects and teams and take part in a workshop on how it can be used in your own environment.
Summary
This course is ideal for Project and Programme managers and planners who want to plan and track one or multiple projects at a time, plan against team capacities and manage dependencies.
Attendees will learn the features and concepts of Advanced Roadmaps, how they relate to Jira and how best to incorporate Jira data to create new plans and schedule work across teams. Working in a sandbox environment, attendees will learn how plans can be created, modified and reviewed before saving their changes back to Jira. Attendees will learn how to plan with inter-project dependencies and cross-project Releases, and within the capacities of multiple teams, as well as to how monitor progress against the plan, over time. Attendees will also learn to use Auto-schedule to automatically create a Plan based on the Jira Issue Estimates, Dependencies and Team Capacities.
During the Workshop, attendees will experiment on a sandbox copy of their own environment, to see how Advanced Roadmaps can best be utilised within their current Jira working practices.

Duration
3 hour live classroom session or remote including hands-on exercises followed by 2-hour workshop. If taken online, the workshop element has to be done as a facilitated online discussion and is ideally delivered in a live classroom environment. Attendees must have access to a computer and the Internet.

ObjectivesAfter attending this course, attendees should be able to:
- Create Plans from Projects, Boards and/or Filters
- Create Teams and assign Capacities
- Schedule Releases incorporating Issues from one or more Projects
- Create and manage Dependencies, within or between Projects
- Use Auto-schedule to automatically create a Plan based on the Jira Issue Estimates, Dependencies and Team Capacities
- Incorporate higher levels (i.e. above Epic) into the issue Hierarchy
- Track progress against plans
- Create multiple planning Scenarios
- Review sandbox changes to be incorporated back into Jira.

This course is designed for novice, or new Advanced Roadmaps for Jira users, and project or programme managers with Jira Software experience.

Prerequisites

Ideally, attendees should have done the Jira Essentials course or have equivalent experience using Jira.
