Atlassian, Freshworks, Halo & monday: Gartner Magic Quadrant 2025

Written by BDQ Team | 30 Sep 2025

The 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant reports bring fresh validation to several technology platforms - and among them are a few of BDQ’s partners. This post examines the recognitions earned by Atlassian, Freshworks, Halo, and Monday, discusses what those accolades mean, and offers guidance on interpreting them in the real world.

Who made the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant lists (and how)

Atlassian:
Leader in DevOps Platforms

Atlassian has again been named a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for DevOps Platforms. What’s notable this year is that Atlassian holds the highest placement in both Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision - a clear signal of confidence in both their present delivery and future roadmap.

Atlassian’s AI‑infused development platform, anchored by its Teamwork Graph, aims to weave context across Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Compass, and other integrated tools. This helps reduce silos, improve flow, and deliver insight across ideation to incident.

Freshworks:
Recognised in AI for ITSM

Freshworks has been included in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for AI Applications in IT Service Management (AI in ITSM). Within their platform, Freddy AI is built from day one (i.e. not bolted-on) and is already driving measurable outcomes:

  • 76.6 % faster resolution times,
  • 41.1 % faster response times,
  • 431,000 hours saved by agents (equivalent to 49 years of labour).

This recognition underscores Freshworks’ positioning as a rising force in the AI-enabled service operations space.

Halo:
Niche Player in AI Applications for ITSM

Halo is a Niche Player in the 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for AI Applications in IT Service Management. While not a Leader, Halo's role shows growing importance in AI-driven ITSM, especially for those valuing simplicity and cost-effectiveness. HaloITSM - the company’s main platform - has steadily improved its AI features.

  • No hidden AI costs
  • Low operational overhead
  • Global partner reach

Teams wanting affordable AI in ITSM without complex tools or pricey add-ons should try Halo.

Monday.com:
Leader in Adaptive Project Management & Reporting

Monday.com has been named a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Adaptive Project Management & Reporting for the fourth year running.

The platform emphasises enterprise project portfolio management (PPM) that’s intuitive, cross-organisation resource planning, and AI‑embedded workflows - all of which Gartner evidently weighed positively.

What these recognitions really mean (and what they don’t)

Benefits of Magic Quadrant presence

  • Third-party validation: Gartner’s inclusion process is rigorous, so being listed (or achieving Leader status) signals maturity, scale, and market recognition.
  • Roadmap confidence: Vendors praised for their vision and execution suggest ongoing investment, innovation, and stability.
  • Visibility in selection processes: Many organisations use MQs as filtering criteria, so being in the report enhances credibility in vendor shortlists.

Limitations & caveats

  • Context matters more than rank: Even a top-ranked platform may not match niche requirements, regional constraints, or integration demands.
  • Public metrics may be self-reported: Some vendors share internal stats (e.g. Freshworks) that are powerful but may reflect optimistic benchmarking.
  • Non-listed tools may still win on fit: Tools that don’t appear (or appear less prominently) in MQs may better suit specific use cases, domain focus, compliance needs, or cost constraints.

Choosing the right tool:
Magic Quadrant is a guide, not a guarantee

While inclusion in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant is a strong signal, the right platform is the one that aligns best with your organisation’s unique needs. Leading status doesn’t guarantee a perfect match; sometimes, a less prominent tool might outperform in your specific domain or integration context.

If any of the platforms above seem relevant for your roadmap - or you’re comparing alternatives across domains like DevOps, ITSM, or adaptive project management - we’d be glad to help. Get in touch to explore which tool fits you, not just the strongest quadrant.
